Our
programs run on Macs with Windows enabled, Windows 95,
Windows 98 and Windows NT, 4.0, 2000, ME, and XP SP2, and
Vista Business. We
do not support Windows 3.11 or lower after Version 2.0.
Version 1.x may have difficulty with Windows XP. Both
with Windows 2000 and XP, when installing the product, the
user needs proper permissions to install software.
We
have customers using networks such as Banyan, Lan Manager,
Microsoft© Backoffice, Novell, Pathworks and Windows NT and
2000 environments.
The
Lan Installation password changes with each product update and
is listed within the installation guide on the CD Rom you
received.
Insert the CD-Rom and when the auto-run menu appears,
choose the View and Print Installation Instructions.

The
program was designed for software updates to be applied
without the need to un-install previous versions.
If you need to un-install TERMS from your computer make
sure that you have a current back up of the following files:
msds.mdb, tier2.mdb and scans folder that are typically
within the WT32 folder.
The TERMS software does indicate that an uninstall will
result in the removal of your data and offers the user an
option to cancel
the removal process.
Back
to Top
You
may move directly from Version 2.x to Version 2.5 without the
need to install the incremental revisions.
However, you must follow use the following install
options from the CD-Rom auto-install menu:
For
Versions 2.0 through 2.3
Conduct a Full Installation to
Version 2.(current).0
For
Version 2.4
Conduct the Update Installation
to Version 2.(current).0
If
I install Version 2.x on one user’s machine, do I have to
install to all (Lan Version only)?
Yes, once the DBUpdate utility is run (mentioned
above), all users who have the previous version will receive
an error that they do not have the most recent version of the
software. You
will need to update all the users’ pcs first, then run
DBUpdate. To
speed the process of installation for a large number of pcs,
we support deployment agents such as SMS (Microsoft System
Management ). Our
installation program is created by Installshield and has an
MSI file. For
more details please see Section 7.0 of the Adminguide.pdf
regarding Silent Installation.

This
answer pertains to MSDS Standard™ or TERMS®: Go to
the drop-down menu option Reports then MSDS
Report Lists. Pick
the "Product List Report".
Change the filter settings as desired, then select
the PRINT button on the bottom of the screen.
The
TERMS®/MSDS Standard™ programs do not have a backup
feature. We suggest that you use a removable data storage
mechanism for large databases such as a Tape or ZIP drive.
You can also backup to your network since networks
tend to be backed up regularly.
If your databases are small, you can use WinZip© or
PKWare© PKZIP for Windows to backup the files to diskettes
or small zip files for storage.
The database names are typically called, MSDS.MDB
and TIER2.MDB as well as the Scans exterior
directory (if you have scanned images).
You
need to run DBUpdate, which is a utility under
the MCT MSDS Software Group (Version 2.4 and higher) or
(Corbus MSDS Software in 2.0 - 2.3).
Open the utility and when Ready appears,
select File then Update Databases for Program
Update.
When Ready appears again, select File
then Exit. You
should be able to open TERMS with no problems.
The
particular MSDS you selected for inventory needs to have a
part number association.
To do this, highlight the MSDS in the list of MSDSs
and select, MSDS and then
EDIT. Go to the
8 Keys (or 1b Header) tab
and click on the
Add Part Number button.
Type in the part number of the MSDS and then click on
OK. Click on OK
or APPLY to save the changes made.
You will be able to add inventory information as well
as that MSDS's ingredients considered for compilation of
various regulatory reports.
For
Version 1.x of TERMS® or MSDS Standard™ users the icon is
located under the Corbus MSDS Applications Group.
For Version 2.x of TERMS®
or MSDS Standard™ integrates scanning within the program.
Please see Help and Contents and search for Scanning
Module for more information.
To
move your MSDS data one pc to another or need disaster
recovery procedures as well as differences in data storage
between our older Versions and Version 2.x, please see the

Never
delete any previous versions of our program before
clarifying where your data is truly located.
There are some Version 2.x installations out in our
customer base still using the WT folder for the data, and
program resides in the WT32 folder.
They have deleted the WT folder and therefore,
deleted their Version 2.x data.
Please
note according to what program version you are using what is
specified after DataPath= before deleting data and knowing
what files to backup.
