Last updated: Monday January 14, 2008 .

SUMMARY

Procedures are explained on how to export scanned images.  There are two ways to do this 1) through editing an MSDS and 2) using your default image viewer.

PROCEDURE

  1. Using Editing an MSDS to export an image:

    a)    When the program is open, select the MSDS within the Material Safety Data Sheet Window by highlighting the MSDS.

    b)    Go to the drop down menu option MSDS and then Edit. (You should see 11 tabs (Key Information).

    c)    Go to the 11 Image Tab.

    d)    Choose the Scan Image Document button. Your MSDS should appear in the preview window if directly scanned.

    e)     Select the Export button on the right hand side.

    f)      The file will be saved in a *.TIF format.  Name the file and select OK. Remember the location you saved the file.

    g)     Open your E-Mail handler and attach the file to your email message.

    h)      If the image is an Adobe® PDF file or a another type of image file, you will see the following:

    i)      Select the Export button on the right hand side.

    j)      The file will be saved in a *.pdf format as with this example.  Other types of files with show their file extensions.  Name the file and select OK. Remember the location you saved the file.

    k)     Open your E-Mail handler and attach the file to your email message.

  2. Using your default Image Viewer:

    a)    When the program is open, select the MSDS within the Material Safety Data Sheet Window by highlighting the MSDS.

    b)    Double-click on the product name, or go to the drop down menu File and then View Scanned Image. The image will appear within the image viewer.

    c)    Click on the Image Viewer's File Drop down menu.   Select the Send... Button (if applicable, some image viewers may not have this option).  This is what you would see using the Image Viewer  that comes with your operating system or Adobe® Reader:

    d)    With both an Image Viewer and Adobe, the Send command opens your default Mail handler if not opened already and creates a new email message with the file you have as the attachment.
